The invention relates to a method for evaluating the state of organisms and natural products, whereby at least one substance in a gaseous mixture is analysed, the analysis being carried out by means of a mass spectrometer. An ion beam acts on the sample of gaseous mixture in a high-vacuum in such a way that the sample molecules are ionised by means of the inner energy of the ions of the ion beam, and the values obtained by the analysis are used to evaluate the state.
