The network video player (1300) comprises: a browser program (1312) stored on a computer-readable storage medium (1310, 1315, 1320) capable of being executed by a processing system (1301) comprising a central processing unit (1305) and a memory (1310); and a video download control program (1311) stored on the computer-readable storage medium (1310, 1315, 1320) capable of being executed by the processing system (1301). The browser program (1312) and the video download control program (1311) transmit video outputs and audio outputs to a television set (1395) via a wireless transceiver system (1302) coupled to the processing system (1301) and receive via the wireless transceiver system (1312) user commands and user data transmitted by a viewer control device (1390) operated by a viewer of the television set (1395).
