A method for processing straw and other annual plants for the production of fiber, particle and insulating boards in addition to wall elements and other molded articles, comprising the following steps: the straw or annual plants is/are dampened and conditioned; the straw or annual plants are defibrated without the use of pressure. The invention also relates to a method for the production of fiber boards, particle boards, insulating boards and other molded articles.
