Non-interfering, anionic ion pairing reagents, anionic ion pairing reagent systems, or in situ formed anionic pairing ion and in situ formed anionic pairing ion systems having volatile combustion products with O or S or halogen atoms or combinations thereof as their only heteroatoms are disclosed along with their use in analytical techniques utilizing element specific detectors.
