A system for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia within intraprostatic tissue (14) surrounding a urethra (10) is disclosed. The system includes an intraurethral catheter (28) having an intraurethral catheter shaft (32). An antenna (76) is located within the catheter shaft (32) for delivering heat to the intraprostatic tissue (14) surrounding the urethra (10). Coolant fluid is circulated through a chamber located between the catheter shaft (32) and the urethral wall.
