A method for determining total chlorine amount and a kit using the same

Disclosed is a method for determining total chlorine amount present in a sample, comprising steps of:(a) mixing said sample with a benzidine indicator solution comprising a benzidine compound capable of forming a dye by a reaction with a chlorine,   wherein a hue of said formed dye is changed depending upon a mol ratio of said chlorine to said benzidine compound, and(b) determining said total chlorine amount from said hue of said formed dye.
