The deep catheter dressing consists of a pouch (100) with an aperture (110a) to receive the end of at least one catheter (300a,300b). An adhesive mechanism (200) attaches the pouch to the patient's skin. The adhesive mechanism surrounds the pouch and ensures that it is sealed. It comprises a central strip of a non-woven compress, with apertures (211a,211b) for the catheter ends. It also has an aseptic surface for applying to the patient's skin and an adhesive surface against the pouch. The pouch's aperture (110a) is made in the upper portion of its face in contact with the skin. Its lower portion with the catheter ends is suspended from the skin by the adhesive section. The pouch is made from a supple, transparent and impermeable thermoplastic material such as medical grade polyethylene. Its surface makes contact with the skin round the outside of the adhesive means is covered with a layer of a non-adhesive material which is pleasant to the touch.
