The invention relates to a method for determining and establishing a route between a first sub-station (N1) making a request and a responding last sub-station (N9) in an ad-hoc network comprising a plurality of sub-stations (N1 - N9), whereby the first sub-station (N1) making a request transmits corresponding request information (SA) to neighbouring sub-stations (N2 - N4) and said neighbouring sub-stations (N2 - N4) re-route said information. The aim of the invention is to permit efficient routing via the directly neighbouring sub-stations, without knowledge of the network topology. To achieve this, the routing takes place from sub-station to sub-station, each sub-station (N1 - N9) forwarding the information as its own information (SA) to other neighbouring sub-stations and storing related data (R-ID, S-ID, N-ID, QoS, transmission time, no. of hops) of the received information and the information forwarded (SA), for information or data packets that arrive subsequently.
