The invention relates to a fireproof element (1), in particular for the construction of a framework (2) on a building for fixing a mounted component (3), such as a fireproof glass or panel, comprising a core profile (4), a thermally insulating filling mass (5), surrounding the core profile (4), a cover (6) enclosing the filling mass (5) and an external cover strip (7) for fixing the component (3). The core profile (4), the filling mass (5) and the cover (6) form a composite body. According to the invention, such a fireproof element (1) may be improved such as to guarantee meeting the fire resistance classification F60, in particular F90 of DIN 4102 with concomitant high mechanical stability and simple preparation, whereby the cover (6) is embodied as a supporting metal profile exclusively indirectly connected to the core profile (4).
