The present invention relates to a ternary polymer blend particularly suited for use in tire treads and carcass ply compounds. The ternary blend is composed of, based on 100 parts by weight of the ternary polymer blend, from 76 to 94 parts by weight of polyisoprene; 3 to 12 parts by weight of epoxidized natural rubber; from 3 to 12 parts of chlorosulfonated polyethylene.
