The invention relates to a method for controlling the process of separating mixtures containing several substances with a known composition in distillation columns. The invention relates in particular to the separation of mixtures of several substances with close boiling points, e.g. isomer mixtures. Said mixtures are separated into their isomeric constituents with a high degree of product purity.
