The invention relates to a universal mobile interactive information equipment that is used, in particular, to monitor a dependent elderly person. The inventive piece of equipment is characterised in that it comprises an autonomous portable unit which can operate independently of all other communication and connection means and which can also be connected to said means. The aforementioned portable unit comprises a carrying case containing a portable computer which manages an information system and which contains different software programs. Access to the computer is authorised with a triple chip card reader comprising a reader for the dependent elderly person's (P.A.D.) personal card, called the patient card, a reader for the Sesame Vitale card and a reader for the professional health care card (C.P.S) of a person identified as a health care professional or any related card. A numeric keypad is used to enter information and control the program(s).
