A reconfigurable antenna system (10) having a rotatable and scannable reflector (20) with a movable feed system (28). The antenna system (10) allows beam shapes to be rotated about an optimum axis (24) and defocused while a spacecraft is in orbit in order to change a particular coverage pattern for the spacecraft.
