The invention relates to an agent for use in the seeding and planting of sandy soils, particularly desert sand. The invention involves the use of a silicate powder comprised of at least approximately 50 70 vol. % silicon oxide as well as a substrate having a composition consisting of approximately 10 20 vol. % of cellulose (cellgreen), approximately 10 20 vol. % of mineral wool, approximately 10 20 vol. % of hemp straw, approximately 20 40 vol. % of bark humus, approximately 1 10 vol. % of silicate, approximately 1 10 vol. % of clay-binder loam, and approximately 10 20 vol. % of diverse loading materials. This enables the development of root systems while also significantly improving the water balance in the soil.
