The invention relates to an athermal arrayed waveguide grating (10), comprising:a) an input slab waveguide (16) being connected to at least one input waveguide (141...14n),b) an output slab waveguide (18) being connected to at least one output waveguide (221...22m), andc) a plurality of arrayed waveguides (201...20k) thati) are arranged between the input slab waveguide (16) and the output slab waveguide (18) andii) are made of a first material whose refractive index has a first type of temperature dependence.;According to the invention, the input slab waveguide (16) comprises one single part (24) that is completely made of a second material having a refractive index with a second type of temperature dependence that is opposite to the first type of temperature dependence (Fig. 1).
