The active switch has two double distributed amplifiers (21,22) each with upper and lower amplifiers, and each having drain (Ldc1) and grid lines (Lgc1). The inputs (E1,E2) are from the grid line and the output from the drain lines. The outputs of the two upper amplifiers are connected to the first switch output (S1), and the lower amplifiers to the second switch output (S2). The switching input signal to the output is controlled by the amplifier state.
