The device has an inline electron beam generation system for producing several electron beams essentially in a common plane (3a) and directed towards a fluorescent screen. Correction magnets (8) mounted externally on the tube are essentially in a plane perpendicular to the direction of the electron beams and are arranged in this plane at an angle between 20 and 70 degrees to the common plane in which the beams pass. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a deflection unit for an inventive device.
