PURPOSE: A device and a method for extracting 2D image characteristics for producing 3D images and a device and a method for producing 3D images thereby are provided to achieve the generation of 3D image by a single image from a 2D image from which the characteristics are able to be extracted, thereby obtaining the 3D images in a short time. CONSTITUTION: A device for extracting 2D image characteristics for producing 3D images includes an area detecting element(101) for detecting required areas by receiving 2D images, noise removing elements(103,104) for removing noises from the detected 2D images, a block binary element(105) for carrying out the binary of the 2D images from which the noises are removed, a line segment element(106) for carrying out the line segment for the binary 2D images, a labeling and size verifying element(107) for assigning labels to the images and carrying out the size verification of the respective labels, and a characteristic extracting element(108) for extracting characteristics of the images by geometrical position information.
