PURPOSE: A rotor position detection apparatus is provided to accurately generate position information signals for rotor position, by using a hall sensor which is not influenced by temperature. CONSTITUTION: A rotor position detection apparatus comprises a rotor unit(40) and a stator unit(45). The rotor unit includes a rotor(44) connected to a rotor shaft of a motor; a magnet(41); a core(42) for shielding flux of the magnet; and a magnet holder(43) for protecting and supporting the magnet, and which is connected to the motor shaft. The stator unit includes a hall sensor(46) for detecting flux; and a pole position sensor circuit(47) for converting the flux detected by the hall sensor into a position information signal. The magnet is shaped into a ring type, and has N-poles and S-poles alternating with each other.
