In the short-circuit between ground faults in the power system, which are relatively short distances from the breaker, that is, short-range line failure, to reduce the rapid rise rate of the transient recovery voltage between the breaker poles immediately after the fault current is cut off and to improve the breaking performance. To this end, a saturable reactor in which a capacitor is connected in parallel is connected in series with a breaker.;As a result, the magnetic inductance of the saturable reactor gradually increases in the process of saturation reactor transitions from the self-saturation state to the unsaturation state immediately before the zero of the fault current, and is then captured by a capacitor connected in parallel to the saturation reactor. Since magnetic inductance and LC resonance of the reactor are caused, the peak value of the current flowing through the saturable reactor and its time period can be controlled.
