PURPOSE: A method for controlling temperature of strip in hot finishing mill is provided to increase accuracy of temperature control by analyzing a correlation between surface temperature of thickness direction and average temperature for a series of various conditions using numerical analyzing model. CONSTITUTION: The method for controlling temperature of strip in hot finishing mill comprises the steps of dividing hot finishing mill process into air cooling region between the outlet side of rough rolling and the inlet side of finishing rolling, air cooling region during rolling, water cooling region, rolling region, and air cooling region at the outlet side of finishing rolling; predicting surface temperature of rolling material in each of the regions and average temperature of the rolling material in the air cooling region after finishing rolling, and obtaining an error by comparing the predicted surface temperature of rolling material and average temperature of the rolling material with actually measured surface temperature of the rolling material; and controlling hot rolling conditions to minimize the obtained error.
