Method of the balance deficit reporting for electronic toll collection

PURPOSE: A method for reporting the remainder deficit of a smart card for the toll collection system to a driver is provided, to prevent the imposition of a negligence fine due to the error of toll calculation by the remainder deficit. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of allowing the device loaded in a car entering the communication region of an advance notice base station(100) founded at the entrance toll gate to transmit the information about the kind of a car and a smart card to the advance notice base station; allowing the information received at the advance notice base station(100) to be transmitted to the terminal controller for the toll calculation; and comparing the toll according the information about the kind of a car received from the terminal controller with the remainder of a smart card, and reporting the remainder deficit to the device loaded in a car via the advance notice base station.
