Piles and Footing Construction Method Using Caisson as Waterproofing Temporary Retaining Well and Concrete Form in Bridge Construction

PURPOSE: Provided is a process for constructing pile base by applying caisson structure as seepage barrier or temporary construction wall body and to utilize the structure as a cast for concrete introduction in digging in ground at a position for a sub-foundation of bridge. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises steps of placing a caisson(1) on a position of a ground to install a bridge pier; mounting the caisson at desired location by excavating the ground and sinking the caisson; re-filling earth and sand into the excavated hollow and constructing the pile; and using the caisson as a cast for introducing concrete into a base plate. A shoe(2) is mounted on front end of the caisson(1) and used to easily insert the caisson into the ground. The re-filling process is for eliminating problems caused by boiling or heaving states in sand/viscous earth such as clay grounds.
