Intelligent tunnel management system using spatial information management technology and method thereof

PURPOSE: A system for managing an intelligent tunnel is provided to manage the tunnel using a spatial information managing technique combining a server/client and object relational GIS technique. CONSTITUTION: A tunnel internal equipment includes an information collection device having a CCTV, a vehicle detection system(VDS), a loop detecting device, a VMS, a lane control system(LCS), and an AIR detecting device. If information collected in each system is transmitted to an on-line through a multiplexer, an information receiving unit receives the information and outputs the information to an information analysis unit(210). The information analysis unit analyzes the information, searches an air in the tunnel, a traffic state, and an unexpected accident, recognizes positions of the systems in the tunnel by linking with a GIS(Geographic Information System), and supplies information with respect to a trouble diagnosis/maintenance of the systems(220). An information supplying unit supplies a tunnel internal state including the traffic state and the internal air condition analyzed by the information analysis unit to a public institution through a network such as the Internet and a LAN(230).
