PURPOSE: Provided are an air drying method based on low temperature cold refrigerator system and an air drier using the same. CONSTITUTION: The air drier comprises a compressed air supply pipe(1) for supplying compressed air; an absorbent vessel(3) connected in parallel to the compressed air supply pipe(1) via a shuttle valve(2); a pair of filtering towers(5,6) that have filter media therein, respectively; a gas discharge pipe(7) for discharging air filtered by the pair of filtering towers(5,6); heat exchangers(8,9) installed in the filtering towers(5,6), respectively; a refrigerant compressor(10) for circulating refrigerant through the heat exchangers(8,9); and a switch valve(11) for alternately supplying the refrigerant to the heat exchangers(8,9) from the refrigerant compressor(10), wherein one side ends of each heat exchangers(8,9) are directly connected to each other by a refrigerant circulation connection line(12), and the other side ends of the heat exchangers(8,9) are connected to the switch valve(11) through a refrigerant supply line(13) and a refrigerant recovery line(14), respectively. The method comprises the steps of installing heat exchangers into corresponding filtering towers which remove moisture by passing compressed air therethrough; and operating the heat exchangers at a temperature below 0C, thereby removing moisture contained in the compressed air by freezing it.
