PURPOSE: A surface-normal-vector-based triangle mesh segmentation system and method are provided to effectively perform mesh segmentation for the model of a specific object. The neighboring sub-regions are selectively combined into a plurality of main regions in response to the main combination control signal(338). The boundary of each main region is processed using segment and boundary vertex according to the boundary of each main region(342).
