Method and apparatus for offset clash test

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for an offset crash test are provided to reduce test costs and achieve improved accuracy of data for preventing injury of passengers. CONSTITUTION: A method for an offset crash test comprises a first step of providing a crashing acceleration to a foot rest using an actual vehicle crash acceleration waveform; a second step of analyzing loads being applied to the foot through the pressure sensing unit mounted on the foot rest and ECU, proceeding to the next step if the load exceeds 20kgf, and returning to the previous step if the load does not exceed 20kgf; a third step of analyzing angle of the foot rest through the angle sensing unit mounted on the foot rest and ECU, if the load exceeds 20kgf, proceeding to the next step if the angle exceeds 30 degrees and returning to the previous step if the angle does not exceed 30 degrees; a fourth step of rotating the foot by rotating the foot rest if the angle of the foot rest exceeds 30 degrees; and a fifth step of measuring injury of the dummy through the use of the measuring instrument mounted on the foot of the dummy, by using the load being applied to the foot and moment generated from the rotation angle of the foot.
