PURPOSE: A method for forming patterns on mirror is provided to color the light and shade treated and engraved or embossed patterns by light and shade treating and engraving or embossing the digitalized patterns by controlling the intensity of laser beam after digitalizing patterns on the surface of mirror using a computer. CONSTITUTION: The method for forming traditional patterns on mirror comprises the steps of grasping and sorting cultural and artistic merit thereof by surveying engraved or pictured patterns and antique paintings of cultural assets, building, tower, palace and temple of all countries of the world; taking a rubbing of and taking a photograph of the sorted traditional patterns and paintings; unearthing basic patterns of the photographed patterns and paintings and developing a picture of many colors and designs; converting the photographed patterns and colors into image data using a scanner having a scanning resolution of 1000 dpi or more; correcting the image data in the distorted or uneven state; converting the corrected image data into data for laser beam; carving a pattern form on the back surface of mirror or glass material using laser beam, or burning the pattern form on the back surface of mirror or glass material using laser so that the pattern form is carved in shade; and coloring the patterns carved by the above steps.
