PURPOSE: A method for detecting and settling the repetition use of an ID in a communication network using a power line, an electric and electronic application instrument connected to a subnet of the communication network, and a communication module used in the same are provided to detect that two or more subnets within an opening communication range repeatedly use the same ID, and change the repeatedly used ID of the subnet. CONSTITUTION: An ID generating device(132) generates two kinds or more IDs for identifying a corresponding subnet. An ID setup device(133) sets only an ID different from IDs used by the other subnets as an ID for identifying the corresponding subnet among the IDs generated in the ID generating device(132). An ID storing device(135) stores the ID set in the ID setup device(133). A transceiver(134) broadcasts a data packet including at least one kind or more IDs among the two kinds or more IDs on a communication network. A comparing device(137) compares the IDs included in the received data packet with the IDs for identifying the corresponding subnet, respectively. If certain IDs among the two kinds or more IDs included in the received data packet are identical to the IDs for identifying the corresponding subnet and the other IDs are different from the IDs for identifying the corresponding subnet, a repetition use detecting device(136) judges that the other subnets repeatedly use the same ID.
