METHOD FOR REPAIRING A FLOATING SEMISUBMERGED DRILLING PLATFORM

The invention relates to shipbuilding, more specifically to a method for repairing self-floating structures, in particular floating semisubmerged drilling platforms (1). The inventive platform (1) comprises stabilising columns (3), lower pontoons (2), a top plate provided with a processing equipment (4) linked to a well and a wall-anchored positioning system (7). The lower parts of the column (3) and the pontoons (2) are divided into watertight compartments which are, in general, buoyancy chambers (10) and (11). Personnel passageways (13, 14) are provided in some of said compartments. Inspection and repair of the platform (1) are carried out during the production activity thereon on the float without cutting liaisons with the well. For this purpose, groups of compartments (10) and (11) are alternately emptied. The platform (1) is permanently maintained within the limits of admissible design characteristics in relation to resistance, stability, floodability and sit-on-the bottom position, said characteristics securing the platform during production and maximum storms. In order to enter some of the compartments (10), additional passageways (16) are provided in the walls (9) between the compartments (10). The passageways (16) are closed after the repair work. In order to repair certain groups of compartments (10 and 11), the platform (1) is pre-deballasted in such a way that it can come to the surface at a minimum admissible operating draft (dmin) without cutting the liaisons with the well.
