Quasi-Shared Output Buffer Type Switching Apparatus

PURPOSE: A quasi-shared output buffer-type switching device is provided to differentiate paths used for transmitting cells to each input, and to always transmit cells arriving in a switch fabric to buffers of output terminals without standing by, thereby preventing contentions between input terminals. CONSTITUTION: Routing blocks(101) find out output ports by information on connections in a header of inputted data, and generate routing tags having the output port information in front of the header. Filters pass data corresponding to the routing tags only, and abandon data that does not corresponding to the routing tags. Distributors(103) receive the passed data to concentrate the data, and transmit the data with a round robin method. Output buffers separate the data transmitted from the distributors(103), and store the separated data. Schedulers(105) service the data stored in the output buffers with the round robin method.
