PURPOSE: A hip joint center identifying instrument for an artificial knee joint replacement technique is provided to easily identify the position of the center of a hip joint during an operation and utilize it to an artificial knee joint replacement technique. CONSTITUTION: A rod linked to a point fixed on a space and the distal region of a femur via a universal joint carries out a conical movement during a hip joint movement. Using the characteristic that the central axis of the cone faces the center of a hip joint, the mechanical axis of the lower limbs is obtained to be utilized as an index of the artificial knee joint replacement technique.
