PURPOSE: An apparatus for deciding the failure period of an electric power distribution in consideration of the failure displaying device and a failure current value in together and a method for the same are provided to exactly deciding the failure period by a central control device by drastically improving the central system with only a simple change of the structure without using a large amount of cost, thereby drastically reducing the failure recovery time during the power failure. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for deciding the failure period of an electric power distribution in consideration of the failure displaying device and a failure current value in together includes a failure display information collecting block(10) for collecting a failure display set information to all terminals of the failure lines by collecting the failure display information of the terminals, a failure current comparing and operating block(20) for collecting the failure current from the terminals set by the failure display and for removing the failure current value caused by the failure display determined as a failure operation by comparing the collected data, an electric power distribution forming block(30) for tracking the electric power distribution structure by using the electric distribution diagram and the data base and for forming the tree structure and a failure period determination block(40) for finally determining the failure period by using the final failure display information derived by the failure current comparing and operating block(20) and the tree structure of the electric power distribution forming block(30).
