PURPOSE: A photographing ratio control method and a camera to which a photographing ratio sensor is attached are provided to control a focus scale of a focus controller to obtain a photographing ratio a user desires. CONSTITUTION: The maximum photographing ratio and minimum photographing ratio corresponding to the maximum and minimum values of scales attached to a focus controller of a camera are measured(S410). Scale positions of the focus controller are sensed(S420). The horizontal size of the photographing ratio is calculated according to the scales of the focus controller. The vertical size of the photographing ratio is calculated according to the scales of the focus controller(S430). The photographing ratio is stored and output together with video data captured by the camera(S440).
