PURPOSE: A method for measuring a transmission distance of a multi-mode optical fiber in a gigabit Ethernet system is provided to analyze transmission characteristics of the multi-mode optical fiber connected to a gigabit Ethernet meter, so as to directly measure the transmission distance of the multi-mode optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: Measuring meters are prepared, and an optical signal is transmitted(S21). If so, the optical connector is repaired(S26) and the multi-mode optical fiber is diminished by predetermined length(S27).
