PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring subsidence of soft ground are provided to improve a responsiveness of a sensor and to reduce a measuring error by removing air bubbles from the sensor while preventing air bubbles from penetrating again into the sensor. CONSTITUTION: A subsidence measuring apparatus includes two water reservoirs(1,2) containing fluid therein. The water reservoirs(1,2) are installed in such a manner that heights of the water reservoirs(1,2) are different from each other. Two tubes(3,4) are connected to lower portions of the water reservoirs(1,2). Other ends of tubes(3,4) are connected to a sensor buried in ground. A subsidence measuring sensor(5) includes a fluid reservoir for receiving fluid from the tubes(3,4), a semiconductor pressure sensor for measuring pressure when the fluid reservoir is moved down, and a signal line(54). An output device includes a programmable circuit device(61) for processing a signal transmitted through the signal line(54) and an LED(62) for displaying an output of the programmable circuit device(61).
