PURPOSE: A method for treating wastewater using catalytic wet oxidation process is provided which is effectively operated even at a low temperature near ordinary temperature and at low pressure near atmospheric pressure and commonly applied to recalcitrant wastewater such as dyeing wastewater and domestic sewage to widen application range. CONSTITUTION: The method for treating wastewater using catalytic wet oxidation process comprises a step of injecting air and hydrogen into wastewater to be treated; and a step of contacting the air and hydrogen injected wastewater with Pt-Pd/Al2O3 catalyst and Cu/Al2O3 catalyst, wherein the step of contacting the wastewater with the catalysts is performed at a process temperature of 80 to 100 deg.C under a pressure of 4 to 6 atmospheric pressures, wherein Pt content is 5 to 20 wt.% of Pd content in the Pt-Pd/Al2O3 catalyst, wherein the amount of hydrogen injected into the wastewater is 0.5/1,000 to 2/1,000 of the air amount injected, and wherein the Cu/Al2O3 catalyst contains 10 to 50 wt.% of Cu, and a weight ratio of the Cu/Al2O3 catalyst to the Pt-Pd/Al2O3 catalyst is 1.
