Method for serving present position in voice using GPS and cellular phone implementing the same

PURPOSE: A method for supplying a voice position informing function by using a GPS function and a portable phone adopting the same are provided to calculate position information of a mobile communication terminal having a GPS function, and to supply the calculated position information as a voice, thereby enabling the visually impaired to freely move to many places. CONSTITUTION: A controller(200) calculates a current position from data processed in a GPS processor(270), and converts position information into a voice in a voice converter(240). A memory(230) processes the position information, stores a program having voice converting algorithm, and stores related data. The voice converter(240) converts the position information received from the GPS processor(270) into voice position information. The GPS processor(270) transceives a GPS signal for generating the position information.
