PURPOSE: A system for authenticating a user using living body information, a method for registering a certificate in the system and a method for authenticating the user are provided to share registration information in many systems effectively by registering living information once without a user registration and to store various living body information such as a voice, a fingerprint, an iris, etc. and to authenticate the user without a device for storing an additional key for the authentication. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of living body recognition systems(101,102,103) collect living body information from a registered user, create a reference pattern, request a registration, receive a certificate, check the certificate, and execute a user authentication using a reference pattern and related information included in the certificate. An authentication institution(105) stores and manages authentication information from the living body recognition systems(101,102,103) in an internal database. When a certificate is requested from the living body recognition systems(101,102,103), the authentication institution(105) searches and transmits a certificate with respect to a corresponding user. The living body recognition systems(101,102,103) are connected to the authentication institution(105) through a network(104), and a communication is executed.
