PURPOSE: A continuous casting method of type 304J1 steel suitable for use in tableware is provided to prevent surface roughness of hot coil in rolling. CONSTITUTION: In a continuous casting method of a molten steel comprising C 0.03 to 0.05 wt.%, Si 0.5 to 0.7 wt.%, Mn 1.3 to 1.6 wt.%, Cr 16.6 to 17.1 wt.%, Ni 7.6 to 8.0 wt.%, Cu 2.1 to 2.4 wt.%, the method is characterized in that CaO/SiO2 ratio in mold powder being fed into molten steel to prevent surface roughness during continuous casting is regulated within 1.1 and 1.2; the amount of water to be sprayed to secondary cooling zone is controlled to be within 0.31 to 0.35 L/kg; and third cooling is conducted under 10 Pa.
