PURPOSE: A method for supporting a QoS(Quality of Service) of an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) MPLS(Multi Protocol label Switching) VPN(Virtual Private Network) backbone network is provided to offer a differentiated QoS to subscribers who belong to the same VPN group. CONSTITUTION: A PE(Provider Edge) router sets an LSP connection and transfers LSP(Label Switched Path) information to a VPN controller(S30,S32). The VPN controller constructs a static input information table by mapping interfaces of subscribers directly connected to the opposite PE router and the LSP information(S34). PE routers receive routing information of a subscriber network directly connected to themselves, searches the LSP connection information from the static input information table by using information included in the routing information, produces transmission information and transfers it to a transmission processor(S36,S38). The transmission processor manages a transmission information table on the basis of the received transmission information(S40). When a packet is inputted to an ingress PE router, the ingress PE router recognizes an RD(Route Distinguisher) on the basis of a packet-received interface, and searches LSP information to be used for passing a backbone network and a VPN label for going out from an egress PE router to a destination CE(Customer Edge) router(S42,S44). A packet inputted to the ingress PE router is transferred to the egress PE router through a pertinent QoS-applied LSP on the basis of the LSP information and the VPN label(S46).
