PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling the idle rattle noise of a transmission are provided to reduce the rattle noise in the idle state by controlling the rotational state of a counter shaft of a transmission even without a pre-damper of a clutch disk. CONSTITUTION: A counter shaft is divided into a first counter shaft(412) and a second counter shaft(418). The first counter shaft is a counter drive gear(410) engaged with a four-stage gear(416) of an input shaft. The second counter shaft performs the function of rotating shafts of counter gears(420) except the counter drive gear. A clutch drive unit selectively transmits the rotational force of the counter drive gear to the second counter shaft. An engine control unit(200) controls the rotation of the second counter shaft.
