PURPOSE: A method for sharing a backup path in an MPLS(Multi Protocol Label Switching) network is provided to assign an optimal band amount by using information on other shared working paths when calculating a necessary band during backup path setting, thereby efficiently managing network resources. CONSTITUTION: A path calculator of a starting LSR(Label Switching Router) calculates a working path LSP1(Label Switched Path1)(S701). The path calculator transmits a path setup request message to a signaling unit to request a path setup(S702). The signaling unit designates each LSR as explicit routes, and transmits a label assignment request message to an intermediate LSR(S703). Each LSR attaches an ID of a working LSP to the label assignment request message, and transmits the message to a next intermediate LSR(S704). A destination LSR creates a label mapping message including working LSP information inserted by each LSR, and retransmits the created message to the intermediate LSR(S705). The intermediate LSRs transmit the label mapping message in opposite direction, and transmit the message to the starting LSR(S706).
