PURPOSE: Provided is a method for automatically and continuously controlling water quality in a water purification process to reduce corrosion of waterworks pipe and heavy metal elution. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the step of supersaturating calcium carbonate in purified water to 0-4 ppm when pH, calcium ion concentration and alkali degree of the purified water are 7.6-8.6, 50-70 ppm and 50-120 ppm, respectively, so as to form CCPP (calcium carbonate precipitation potential) on inner surface of waterworks pipe while the purified water flows through the pipe, wherein the pH, calcium ion concentration and alkali degree are adjusted using carbonic acid gas (CO2), caustic lime (CaO) and slaked lime £Ca(OH)2|.
