Method of driving cholestric liquid crystal display panel for displaying gray-scale with two electric potentials for driving scan electrode lines

PURPOSE: A method for driving a cholesteric liquid crystal panel for displaying gray scale by driving scan electrode lines with two displacements is provided to drive scan electrode lines only with two displacements. CONSTITUTION: In selection periods, selection line voltage is sequentially applied to each scan electrode line and data signals are applied to all data electrode lines at the same time. Each section period is divided equally by slots as many as the total gray number and a plurality of sub-slots are set in each slot. Gray scale of each discharging cell is displayed by the number of slots to be turned on in each selection period. First sub-slots apply voltage to the scan electrode lines corresponding to the selection period, and apply voltage to the data electrode lines to be turned off not to apply voltage to cholesteric liquid cells to be turned off. Second sub-slots apply voltage to the data electrode lines to be turned off to apply voltage to the cholesteric liquid cells to be turned on.
