PURPOSE: A chest unit for keeping ashes is provided to improve the exterior view of the unit for keeping ashes, in attaching slates to the front of the chest for keeping ashes and to individually separate the slates, and to prevent a visitor from feeling fear by fixing the slate. CONSTITUTION: A chest unit for keeping ashes includes a support bracket(30) fixed to the crossing portion of each layer(1') of chests for keeping ashes(1); a pair of swivel sockets(40) with one end rotatably fitted into the support bracket; locking devices(50) installed in the middle of the upper part of the each layer of the chests for keeping ashes; settling brackets(60) fixed to both lower sides of the inside of a slate(10) attached to the front of the chest for keeping ashes; and a fitting device(70) attached to the upper middle part of the inside of the slate. Uneven grooves are formed on the top of the other end of the swivel sockets. The rotating of the locking device is controlled from the outside. The settling bracket has control screws(62) fitted into the uneven grooves of the swivel sockets. The fitting device forms a fitting protrusion into which the locking device is fitted.
