A vertical breakwater which has a removing wave and a tidal current mutual understanding

PURPOSE: An upright breakwater having wave dissipation and current drainage functions is provided to improve seawater-exchanging capacity and to function as a hydrophilic space. CONSTITUTION: The upright breakwater(1) having wave dissipation and current drainage functions comprises the steps of placing a unit caisson(10) over the top of a foundation(4) of the seabed(2), perforating many seawater draining holes(12) on the front side of a semicircular wall(11) of the open sea side and a semicircular wall(11a) of the inland sea side, installing many vertical projections(13) on the semicircular wall(11) of the open sea side, installing many inclined partitions(14) in the unit caisson(10) and perforating many seawater draining holes on each inclined partition(14).
