PURPOSE: Provided are an apparatus and a method for advanced wastewater treatment using microfiltration and powdered activated carbon. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a mixing unit(140) for mixing powdered activated carbon (PAC) and wastewater, a pressure control unit(150) for controlling pressure of the mixed wastewater, and a microfiltration unit(160) horizontally arranged to mixed wastewater supply direction, wherein the mixing unit(140) is a tube having a length allowing 5 minutes of retention time, and the microfiltration unit(160) is a porosity film with pore size of 0.22 m. The method comprises the steps of mixing powdered activated carbon and wastewater, supplying the mixed wastewater at 10-20 kPa, passing the mixed wastewater though a microfiltration unit and discharging filtrate in perpendicular direction to the wastewater supply direction, and discharging remainders of the microfiltration to a mixing unit in which the powdered activated carbon and wastewater are mixed with each other.
