PURPOSE: An advertising technique using a short message gift certificate and a method for transmitting a short message using the same are provided so that advertisers can advertise to desired, specific advertising targets at a small outlay and users can send short messages inexpensively. CONSTITUTION: An advertiser secures short message gift certificate users through an event(10,11) and provides short message gift certificates to them(12). If a short message gift certificate is provided to a user, the user takes authentication procedures so as to use it through his portable phone or the Internet(13,14). The authenticated user transmits short messages as much as a defined quantity during an appointed period using the provided short message gift certificate(15,16).
