PURPOSE: A power system simulation system and method is provided to allow a trainee to experience a simulated failure at a power system similar to a real world failure by using a database storing various types of simulated failure scenarios. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A simulator is driven by executing various kinds of related programs(S10). A current operation mode is converted into a simulation training mode before a training is started(S12). The kind and type of training scenario are selected, and then a scenario being done via a database(S14). It is checked whether a trainee logs in a simulation system(S16). If the trainee logs in the simulation system, the training starts based on the selected scenario, an operation and a power system control state are monitored in real time, and the data including correct or wrong answers is displayed on a trainer operating board(S18, S20). The trainer determines whether a failure is recovered, and if it is not recovered, determines whether the training gets stopped(S24, S26). But, if the failure is recovered, an assessment result for a recovery specification is automatically generated and a corresponding score is displayed on the board(S28). The operation related data is stored at a database, and if the training mode is stopped, the current training mode is converted into an operation mode(S30).
